Our beautiful blessing is 4

Psalm 139:14

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Bethany turned the big number 4 yesterday! She had a really fun day. It was great that her birthday fell on a Sunday this year. She was able to go to church on her birthday, being that it's one of her favorite things! She was so happy that her favorite teacher, Miss Joanna, was teaching. She wore her birthday hat we found at the Dollar Tree.
It was always tradition when I was growing up, that you got to make your own birthday cake on your birthday. We all loved it and couldn't wait to lick the beaters, so that has become tradition at out house too. Bethany and I made cupcakes the night before to take to preschool. She wanted pink cupcakes, with pink icing-typical 4 year old!! When Bethany was dumping in the last egg she said, "Last one in is a rotten egg!!" The next morning, Bethany put the sprinkles on the cupcakes. Lots and lots of sprinkles!!
Bethany convinced me that she HAD to have a cake too. I had only planned on making the cupcakes but Bethany couldn't understand why she wasn't going to have a cake. So after church we made a cake, this time yellow with chocolate icing (with a little persuading).
Bethany opened her gifts. We gave her a doll, Play-doh and pj's. She named her new baby doll Molly. She had been wanting a doll with hair! On the phone last night with Mamma she said, "My baby has a banana on her head, ah, a bamana, what's it called? Yeah, a bandanna! And she has cute little shoes!"
We took the cake and ice cream to Mamaw and Papaw's. Bethany wore her new pj's. Joe and his brother's played wiffle ball with Bethany and her cousins. Then Papaw took them all on a tractor ride. We ate cake and ice cream with everybody. I left the ice cream in the car so that is why it looks a little soupy!!

It was a great day and I wish it wouldn't have ended so fast. I know another 4 years will be gone all too soon! I have had my feelings of being sad that she is already 4, but I won't go on and on about it. I am going to suppress them as long as I can!
Bethany, I love you very much! You are such a sweet, beautiful little girl!
