Praise the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Today was the last day of Joe's fall break. All he wanted to do was spend the entire day with the kids. We went to Barnes and Noble so Bethany and Joseph could play with the trains. Although, Bethany is always more excited about reading Fancy Nancy.
Joe wanted to buy Joseph a new train from Thomas, so he picked out Annie and Clarabelle. Bethany got to pick out a pair of Fancy Nancy shoes and a sceptre. Both were really excited and couldn't wait to come home and play with their new toys. Isn't Bethany cute with her Fancy Nancy leg warmers!?
This age is really fun. While we were in town, Bethany was in the back seat asking Joseph if he could see the Taco Bell sign. Joseph kept saying, "I can't see it, Sissy!" She said, "See, right there Bud. See the sign with the bell on it? It has a pink bell on the sign. That's why it's called Taco Bell." Joseph finally saw it and said, "Oh, yeah, over der." Bethany proudly agreed saying, "Yeah, Bud. That's it. That's why it's called Taco Bell."
The neatest part of the day was when Joe took Bethany and Joseph for ride in the truck. Joe's brother is so generous and felt sorry about us only having one car. He gave us their papaw's old truck to use as a second vehicle until we get a new one. Bethany and Joseph both were chomping at the bit to ride in this "new" truck. It was quite funny to see how excited they were to have the truck. Really funny!! Joe let them honk the weak horn and "drive" it around the yard. Around and around, I am sure our neighbors think we are definitely crazy now!! Their little faces were beaming. Every time Joe would hit the brakes Joseph would slip right off the vinyl seat into the dashboard! He just rubbed his head and acted like nothing happened.
Seeing those happy faces and pure excitement really made me think about being thankful. Not that I wasn't thankful for the truck, I was. Their faces took it a little further. These days will be over before I know it. I just never want to forget them!
