Smitten

Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

What a beautiful day it was today! Fall is my favorite time of year. I cleaned house all day yesterday for our Bible study. So today, the kids and I stayed outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather.
Joseph and Bethany were so worried about Molly when they woke up this morning. They rushed downstairs to see if she was on our porch. Joseph was whining saying, "Oh, I bet dat kitty's not dare!" Bethany said, "I know Bud, I was worryin' all night. I couldn't go to sleep, because I was worryin' so much!"
How crazy is that! A four year old who can't sleep because she is worried! I about burst into laughter!
Molly wasn't outside and they were disappointed. About 11 am Molly showed up on our doorstep. Bethany and Joseph were SO excited! They spent the rest of the day playing with her until nap time. As soon as they got up from their naps we went right back outside to play again.
It is so funny watching them play with a kitten. Bethany would "put Molly to bed" and Joseph was always "waking" Molly up.

We had our lunch outside. The kids both had bread left over they didn't want so we put the edges in Molly's bowl. After nap time, I went outside and Joseph was sitting on the steps eating stale bread out of her bowl!! Gross! That boy will eat anything! He found an ancient french fry in our car the other day. He was all excited and was about to put it in his mouth!

We went to visit my parents tonight. We played corn hole and rook. On our way home at 11 pm, Joseph was worried about Molly not being home. Sure enough, she was under the deck. It looks like we have a keeper. Never thought we'd have a cat!! Especially not right now.

It is so neat to see Bethany and Joseph's little soft hearts. They really care about Molly. Not so they can keep her, but because they don't want her to be hungry or get hurt.

Looks like you have a pet now! It's amazing how great kids are with animals. I think they really get to show their nurturing side. Linus (our dog) and Hayden have alot of fun playing together too. Your blog continues to bring a lot of joy to my days reading about your day to day adventures with the kids.
