Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for humankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.
It's only the first day, but the chart has been amazing. Definitely worth the time it took to make it already. Early this morning, I told Bethany if it warmed up we were going outside to take pictures. She said, "Uh, I don't want to!!" "What did you say?" I asked. "Never mind." was her quick response. That happened a couple of times. Anytime she said she wasn't or didn't want to, do something I'd say, "Do you want to lose your sticker?"
Before bedtime, she proudly placed her sticker on the chart. Joseph also had to have a sticker to place on the chart. I am not sure that he gets it completely, but it can't hurt to try.
We made a thankful jar today. Bethany and Joseph cut pieces of paper. I wrote down the things and people we are thankful for. After a point, I had to help them think of things. All most everything I suggested, like our warm house, TV, lights, on and on, Bethany would ask, "Why are we thankful for that?" I am amazed how she just doesn't get it. This was really good for her.
Every night at supper, Joseph and her get to pull a paper out of the jar. If it is a thing we thank God for it and if it is a person we pray for them. They both really liked this idea.
Here is a video that I took of Jophie. His tongue cracks me up. Whenever he thinks really hard his tongue comes out. We tried smaller scissors, he couldn't cut anything, so I thought I'd let him try the bigger ones. He didn't have success with them either, but it was good practice.
