Farewell President George W. Bush

I just watched President Bush's farewell address. I have to say, I've always really liked the guy. He seems so honest to me. I found his words comforting and reassuring, his eyes always kind. I could trust him. His mispronunciations and bad grammar, came across, to me, as him being real. I like that about him.
I know there are many who strongly dislike him and the decisions he has made. No one could say they think all his decisions were perfect and they wouldn't have done anything differently than he.
That's just the thing for me, it's so easy for all of us to say what he has done wrong and how he has gone wrong. Who wants that job and those responsibilities? Apparently, Obama, yeah I know. This country is a huge responsibility. Every opinion and belief we, the people, have is as diversified as it gets. Hindsight is 20/20.
I just don't get how we can fault the man because he didn't please everyone. Or, now that we know, because he should have made different choices.
I guess, I just want to say...President Bush I think you are an awesome man. I admire your strength to stand on the choices you made, your courage to lead our country and I am thankful for the honor in which you served the United States of America. May God bless you!

I'm with you! I always liked President Bush too. He always seemed like a down to earth, normal person who made mistakes...but who doesn't? He, unfortunately, had all eyes on him to expose his mistakes, even as unimportant as speaking errors. I admire the man and admit am a bit fearful about what is to come with our upcooming president. All we can do is pray!
