Organizing artwork

Almost every morning, when I drag myself out of bed and stumble downstairs, I find Bethany sitting at the kitchen table coloring or drawing a picture. She loves to color and recently said she wants to be an artist when she grows up, until now she has always wanted to be a dentist. A single artist that is, because she does not want to ever get married and leave us.

All this artwork has created a bit of a problem for me, it's everywhere. The refrigerator can't hold anymore. The space it did offer is now even more limited, due to Jenna's new abilities. She swipes everything off of it that she can reach, every time she comes through on one of her rampages. Basically, every 15 minutes, the fridge gets decluttered and all 30 pages end up in the floor again. Many masterpieces are a crumpled mess after they get caught under Jenna's baby knees and drug from one room to the next.

Bethany works really hard on each and every picture, she has really improved. Her colorings are much neater and she now draws people, rain clouds, bridges and cars, all very cute.
She is so protective of them that she was carrying them around with her all the time. She would even sleep with her pile of artwork. I came up with this idea of keeping all her work together in a binder, in plastic pages to protect them. Her artwork continues to grow and I don't have to worry about storing them or keeping them safe.

She loves this and keeps changing her cover pictures. Oh, and she can't sleep without it, how annoyingly inconvenient sweet!

That is a great idea. Elijah hates it when his pics get ruined, especially by little bro. I am going to get him a special folder, he'll love it!
She is quite good~ I am all over the Hello Kitty!
My boy is going to be a singe artist as well!!!

Great coloring!! My 4-yr. old is very possessive of her artwork as well. At least 3x a week we're having to empty her bed of art projects & coloring pages!

That is such an awesome idea on how to save artwork!!!!! I'm gonna start doing that myself!! I just keep shoving everything away in a drawer and I just know they'll get messed up at some point so I like the idea of storing them in a binder where they're organized and protected!

My daughter is a HUGE Hello Kitty fan too!

This is an ingenious idea...to keep it all in a binder.

Great idea - we use it too! It really keeps things simple as we only keep what is in the binder. The other art is given to friends and family.

I love the pictures in your header. Beautiful site!

She does, such lovely work! And what a great idea to set up her own notebook for her artwork -- I have a protective little artist and a full refrigerator too, so I believe I'll give this a whirl! :D

Happy MMM!
