Joseph's cheeks are full of cookie dough. This was our 9 days 'til Christmas activity. So far, the countdown is a hit. Bethany and Joesph both love pulling the card to find out what fun thing we get to do each day. The 10 days 'til Christmas event was painting a Christmas picture. We updated our fridge, you can check out their latest art on the right side of the screen. I penciled Joseph a tree to paint, but Bethany did hers all by herself. I love them, Bethany's is colorful and Joseph only wanted "bwue" ornaments on his.
The best part for Joseph was making it snow, all over the floor.
I wanted the cookies to be perfect but suppressed my OCD-ness of wanting to correct their techniques. After all my squeamishness and taking deep breaths, I realized they did a great job and had alot of fun doing this all by themselves. What did it matter if the sugar was heaped high and the red and green mixed reminded me of the old joke, "A toad in a blender."
Then I popped the cookie sheet into the oven, and guess what, I over cooked them. That's right, me, burnt their cookies. Me, the person that wanted to make them all beautiful and delicious. Once again, I thought I knew best. You know what, Bethany and Joseph didn't say a word about it, they didn't care. Lesson served.
I am continuing to feel a little better. This makes me really happy! I'm still tired but not paralyzed, there is a difference. I told you it was a big deal moving the computer back down to the basement. Bethany came downstairs the next morning and found me sitting at the desk on the computer. "Uhh, how did this get down here?!", she exclaimed. I told her we moved it down the night before and she happily said, "So this means you're feeling better!? Cause this is where the computer used to be, when you weren't sick!" It was really sweet to see how excited she was that I felt better.
