A quick peek

We had a great Christmas, I hope you and yours did too. I'm not ready for it to be over yet. I'm still enjoying the Christmas tree and the decorations. This weekend I've been recouping from our 3 day Christmas marathon. Christmas Eve {Eve} night the kids opened up their new pj's at my parents house. The next morning they opened up our gifts to them. Jenna wasn't really interested in opening gifts. Joe picked out this Poppin' Pals toy and she loves it. It has turned out to be her favorite gift. Bethany and Joseph were able to play with their toys most of the day, until we went to Joe's parents that evening.
We spent Christmas day with my family. It was a really great Christmas, alot of laughs, good presents and too much food. My brother and his wife came in from Alabama. I didn't take very many pictures over the holiday because I just wanted to enjoy everything. Sometimes taking pictures stresses me out {especially when kids don't cooperate} and keeps me from being in the moment because I feel like I have to capture everything. From the start of this Christmas season, it's been about keeping things simple, not stressing over perfection, and embracing imperfection.
I have had stressful moments and wrestled with being tired but overall, it was great. We are blessed with such good families. My niece Maddie stole the spotlight this Christmas. Isn't she cute?

Now we're just waiting on the new year and hoping for some snow. We'll be playing Rook in the meantime. I'm not spending much time on the internet, just resting and being with family. I'll be back some time to show you my favorite presents I received.
