Friday craft day

All week long, I promised Bethany and Joseph that hard work on their school and good attitudes would be rewarded on Friday. The weather has been so wet and dreary all week, we needed something to change up the pace. It worked out well for both of us, so yesterday we had a fun day of food crafting and painting.I saw this somewhere online and thought that it would tickle their 4 and 5 year old sense of humor. They poked long, spaghetti noddles through chopped up hot dogs. I called them octopuses , Bethany thought they looked like aliens.
This is the easiest food project I've ever done with them. No mess, and no clean-up.
I dropped them into the boiling water and let them cook like normal pasta.

The final product is these disgusting looking crawly things.
The sounds coming from the table were equally nasty. Slurping, and chomping. I was waiting for someone to request the catchup, can you imagine how ugly that would have been? Bethany did complain that the noddles had no taste, then she added that Knit Knots {from Imagination Movers} would love them.

After they had fun with eating their lunch, {that I couldn't eat} we painted. More to come later about that.

haha...those "octopuses" are awesome! Definitely made me laugh - but I love that they are so easy to make and not messy and then you get to eat them too. We're definitely going to have to try this one yet. Thanks for that VERY original idea! haha ;)

That looks like so much fun! I just might do this with my daughter today. I want to keep her busy so I can watch the championship football games! I showered her, she thought those were great.
