Thyroid update, and my three monkeys

Happy Friday Stalkers, com'mon in and sit on the cough umm, couch. {my fingers just automatically type about coughing} Just push the laundry in the floor, I'll get it folded eventually.
I'm so happy it's Friday, my school teaching husband is off on Monday so we get to enjoy a long weekend. Though I don't know if we will be getting out much. The kids are still doused in Mucinex, and the noses are still dripping.

I was in the basement today and all the sudden I heard this pouring out sound. The sound of a million tiny pieces hitting the floor. I knew it couldn't be good, so I rushed upstairs and found this little monkey enjoying her mess.
Alpha-Bits, I bought hoping to entertain Joseph during school, were being devoured.
The sound attracted another little monkey. He assessed the situation for a moment and then said, "Oooooo!"
And soon followed the third monkey in the troop. {Don't ask what she is wearing, I didn't.}
Needless to say all this trouble made for a yummy mid-morning snack.

On an unrelated note,
I had labs drawn this week to see where my levels are now that I've been taking Synthroid for 6 weeks and am feeling so much better. I can't even tell you how great I feel compared to a month and a month and a half ago. I have so much more energy. I went from weeks of laying in the bed to now being able to function.
I was confused about how much I had improved because I'm still tired, but it's such an improvement I haven't felt like I could complain. I knew I was better by leaps and bounds, but I still feel tired and struggle when it comes time to leave my house. I can manage really well if I stay home, but going to the grocery, hanging out with friends, making trips in and out of the car all leave me really drained. The past couple weeks, I tried to prepare myself that my levels were probably back in normal range and that this might just be me back to my normal self. I've been thinking about working out, but just haven't had the energy.
So, I got my labs back today and it's really great news. All my problem areas have improved and come up, but not nearly enough. This is so encouraging, I could tell things have improved, but I never guessed it would be so little. The reason I'm so happy is because this means I am heading in the right direction and I will be feeling even better. This is the first time in months that my labs have come back showing improvement in 5 months. I've been waiting a long time!
{As always, I know most don't care about these numbers but I know a few of ya'll deal with thyroid stuff too, so here are the numbers. My TSH was 44.68 six weeks ago, now it's 25, my T4 was 0.16 now it's 0.7, and my T3 was 2.3 and it's still 2.3. My ferritin and iron are still really low as well, though they have improved some. My new dosage of Synthroid will be .125 mg rather than .1 mg}

I've just sat back down to finish up this post. Monkey #3 called me away, crying and hollering for me from her cage crib. I made to the top of the stairs and knew it happened again when the smell hit me. Sure enough, I found her pant-less and diaper-less. You can imagine the rest. I'm ready for Joe to get home to help me fend off all this monkey business.
Happy weekend, we'll be holding down the fort and wiping noses.

Glad you are feeling better. We will be home all weekend as well wiping noses and listening to all the coughing. It's awful and now I have it as well. Hope the kids are feeling better soon!

Ugh. My eldest used to do that with her diaper, but only in her crib. After a couple too many times of that, we bought some white duct tape (white made us feel less honky than the silver stuff) and put a strip across the front of her diaper when she would be going to bed. She couldn't get it undone, and we were set!

Hope your littles are feeling better soon!

I am so glad you're better and your #s are slightly better--some light at the end! I understand about feeling good til you leave your house! It's like God gives us just enough energy for what goes on in here, and if we add anything we've got nothing! (that's how I feel a lot anyway.) Just a season. love ya!
