Twenty-ten

Hello all!
Happy New Year twenty-ten!

I've missed you all, but have enjoyed my blogging vaca and the extra time I had to spend with my family. I noticed I have a few new followers, thanks for being interested in what I have to say. Thanks to all my regulars for patiently waiting for my return! I'm eager to hear from you all.
It's been a busy new year so far. So busy, I haven't had time to put away the Christmas decorations and am running on fumes. Joe had to drag me to church this morning {and I'm glad he did}. Now I'm happily back home in my pj's thinking about taking a nap before I finally take down our Christmas tree and all the decorations.
This was such a great Christmas, I can truly say it was as guilt free as possible. From wrapping the last gift a minute before it was opened, having company over and my bathrooms not being spotless, going to family Christmas gatherings and my kids not all dressed to match, I'm slowly letting go. It feels good, and a little scary. Mostly, it's a good feeling knowing that I don't have to be a people pleaser, and that I don't have to stress about such small matters. I am not perfect, so why do I try to appear perfect? The reason it is scary is because I don't want to not care and there are moments when I worry that I will get to a place of not trying or caring. I have to remind myself that I am not being lazy, I am doing my best and that is enough. God's and husband's opinions are the only ones that matter.
I'm eager to get my house back in order and have an organizing and re-arranging itch. First things first though, and that's attacking the tree. I will get there, when I get there and I will not guilt myself for not getting there sooner!
We start back to school tomorrow and I'm excited. Bethany starts learning a bunch of great phonics stuff that I know she is going to love. I can't wait for her to learn them because I know her reading skills are going to take off and that will make her very happy.
Enjoy your Sunday, it's freezing cold here!

Hello Miranda,

Good to see you back! I am very muh like you the aspect of the people pleaser and it is something I am working on as well. My tree is still up too but here is Puerto Rico the tree does not come down till after the 3 kings day....in which kids get presents again.

I look forward to your blog this new year!

Looks like Jenna is getting the hang of being a Mommy. Just needs a little more practice on getting that finger out of baby's eye. Woops, it can happen to the best of us.
