Happy Friday and weekend reading

Happy Friday!  I'm supper excited that the weekend is almost here again.  Monday felt like it was two days smashed into one, but the rest of the week has gone really smoothly and fairly quickly.  Our routine without Joe during the day and with school is feeling normal again.
I've been trying to keep myself busy.  In addition to homeschooling and potty training I'm trying to stay focused on projects I want and need to get accomplished before Brady comes.  This includes everything from painting a highchair, organizing the kids clothes, starting and finishing Christmas shopping and sewing, among other things.
I figure these things will help me pass the time and keep my mind off the ailments of a forth pregnancy.  I had Braxton Hicks all day yesterday, combined with ligament pain and a sore throat I caught from the kids.  I must say, it's a bit early for Braxton Hicks, and there really should be another word for ligament pain because that title just doesn't do it justice!  See, this is why I definitely need to keep myself busy with projects, so I'll keep from grumbling.
Last week I made a curtain for the dining room.  I know you all were wondering if I was ever going to create a window treatment out of anything other than artwork or paper flowers, so here you go.  I gathered the inspiration from here and here.  I wish I could be more of a no-sew, glue and pin kinda girl, but the sewing machine seems much easier to me.  I sewed my curtains, though both inspiration curtains look super easy too.

This week I used the paint I'd planned on painting the front door with, to paint my $5 thrift store find from last weekend.  I know, can you believe it!?  I'm smitten for this box that my husband laughed at when he first laid eyes on it.  It's not in mint condition but certainly sturdy, well mostly sturdy.  Three coats of paint brightened it up, and I may have enough left for the door too, unless I decide to go yellow.  I'm not 100% about leaving it here, but for now I'm happy with it.

Bethany is keeping busy with her own creating every morning.  I'm not sure where I am going to put all this artwork.  The new art supplies for school have all three of my kids coloring and creating up a storm, not that I'm complaining.  It keeps them quiet every morning and lets me catch some extra sleep.

Lastly, whether you need weekend reading or not, I'm telling you, you need to go to this link and read this.  It's been awhile since I read anything so inspiring and encouraging regarding our country and our church.  In this day and age, we must hold to the truths our country was founded on, when so many are trying to{and have} not only destroy it's foundation, but erase it's foundation.

Happy weekend!  Hopefully, yours doesn't include snotty noses and coughing like mine probably will.
