If you only have a moment to glance over this post, or if you really don't want to know all the tiny details of my pregnancy, I completely understand. However, please take a moment to read the end of the this post, Thanks!
It's been a bit of a crazy, busy life these past few days, and hours. I already know this post will be scattered with a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Jenna's cold is still lingering and she broke out in a horribly dry rash all over her body. I spent 3 hours and 45 minutes at an urgent care with her this afternoon, just to have them tell me that she has a virus. In the moment, I was a little disappointed that I had wasted my afternoon, skipped my cousin's shower, and lost some priceless saneness to hear that diagnosis. Now in retrospect I'm thankful that's all she has.
I went to my 24 week check up on Friday. Brady is active and moving around all healthy like. It took the doctor nearly 5 minutes to get his heartbeat because he repeatedly kept kicking the doppler. My belly was measuring big by a cm and a half. I feel huge already and can't imagine how ginormous I'll be in 3 more months! It's mostly baby though because I've only gained 3 pounds back of the 9 I lost earlier in the pregnancy.
My ultrasound results came back good, though I have to have a repeat one due to a low lying umbilical cord placement and Brady's kidneys measuring a mm off. Jenna had kidney drama too, so I'm not worried about it, and the doctor said I shouldn't be.
I asked the doctor about all the Braxton Hicks I've been having. Almost everyday I have them and some days they last for hours. She said I need to get more rest, drink plenty of water, and be careful about what I do. She didn't think it was anything too concerning now, but said it was important for me to take care of myself now, so it isn't a problem in the next few months. She asked what I did to bring them on and I just looked at her and said, "Take care of my three children every day!"
And now for the most important thing on my mind tonight, I'm asking for your prayers. My cousin, Mike, has been battling cancer for over 2 years. God has worked many miracles in his life and healed him in some really big ways in the past. He's been receiving chemo treatments for sometime and last night he became very sick and weak. He's currently in ICU, and the doctors are running tests and such. Please pray for his continued to healing and restoration. His wife, Amanda is a precious woman. This has been a long journey for them both, prayer for them would be much appreciated.
