Ssshhhhh, it's why the door is locked

I'm in the middle of a major home remodel. So much to decide, decisions, decisions. Chaos and disaster. Am I in over my head?  Too many choices, from what color to paint the front door, to picking out flooring for the entire house.  What print of wallpaper?
Which fabric for all the window treatments?
I've put in a few late hours, behind locked doors with an exact-o knife.  Bethany is turning 6 on Tuesday and time is running out.  This project has to be finished by then.  I've had this dollhouse since she was two, planning to make-it over many Christmas' and birthdays past.  Apparently, it's been in need of a complete upgrade before it met me, probably longer than I've been alive.  Yes, it screamed 70's for a little too long.  Holly Hobby curtains, green carpet and all!

The walls are looking brighter, but I still have flooring, paint and curtains to turn out on this mansion.  I definitely have enough work for a few more late nights, and if I can work them in, hours behind a locked door with my kids knocking and begging to come in.
I'll let you see the finished project, after my kids have seen a few more re-runs of Andy Griffith. I'll be listening to my new favorite song as I'm painting tonight.

Stop it! I love this. So adorable. I found you through a link party, and serendipitously enough, I linked MY dollhouse project to the same one.

Great job!

Miranda, it's beautiful! She will love it!!

My dad built me a doll house for Christmas one year. (It's how I knew Santa wasn't real... but that's a different story) Anyway, the roof and the floors weren't finished. My mom and I put the floors down together, and all these years later, the roof still not finished. And I loved it anyway.

Enjoy your secret, and if it's not finished, have her help you once it's not a secret anymore.

What color did you paint the front door?

P.S. I've been a horrible commenter lately, but I wanted you to know I read every word, and say a prayer. xoxo.
