Many of you have asked about the t-shirts my kids wore to the hospital when Brady was born, well here is the story. We were in the van several months ago when Matt Maher's song "Hold Us Together" came on the radio. It was the first time I'd heard the song and I immediately related it to Joseph and his soon to be little brother. I love the chorus,
Love will hold us together,
make us a shelter to weather the storm
and I'll be my brother's keeper,
so the whole world will know that we're not alone.
I knew I had to make a slide show video with that song and pictures of Brady's arrival. I had been contemplating what kind of matching shirts I wanted Bethany, Joseph and Jenna to wear to the hospital when Brady arrived. When Jenna was born I had a friend embroider Bethany and Joseph shirts, you can see them here. These lyrics inspired me to make my own. The older kids shirts say, "I'll be my brother's keeper" and Brady's says, "This is the first day of the rest of my life." I created the images in Picasa, then printed them on iron-on transfer paper. Super easy!
It's been 4 weeks ago tonight that I went to the hospital and heard the long awaited words that I was in labor and going to have my baby boy. I was thrilled and so happy, and have been since. My joy is still as full as it was then. Being a mom is amazing fun, I love being Bethany, Joseph, Jenna and Brady's mommy.
Tomorrow morning Joe goes back to work, for the first time ever I'll be doing the mommy to 4 all alone, all day. It's gonna take some patience, from all of us. Love is all we need, right?! If you see a smoke signal, come rescue me!
