I'll be my brother's keeper

Many of you have asked about the t-shirts my kids wore to the hospital when Brady was born, well here is the story. We were in the van several months ago when Matt Maher's song "Hold Us Together" came on the radio. It was the first time I'd heard the song and I immediately related it to Joseph and his soon to be little brother. I love the chorus,
Love will hold us together,
make us a shelter to weather the storm
and I'll be my brother's keeper,
so the whole world will know that we're not alone.
I knew I had to make a slide show video with that song and pictures of Brady's arrival. I had been contemplating what kind of matching shirts I wanted Bethany, Joseph and Jenna to wear to the hospital when Brady arrived. When Jenna was born I had a friend embroider Bethany and Joseph shirts, you can see them here. These lyrics inspired me to make my own. The older kids shirts say, "I'll be my brother's keeper" and Brady's says, "This is the first day of the rest of my life." I created the images in Picasa, then printed them on iron-on transfer paper. Super easy!
It's been 4 weeks ago tonight that I went to the hospital and heard the long awaited words that I was in labor and going to have my baby boy. I was thrilled and so happy, and have been since. My joy is still as full as it was then. Being a mom is amazing fun, I love being Bethany, Joseph, Jenna and Brady's mommy.
Tomorrow morning Joe goes back to work, for the first time ever I'll be doing the mommy to 4 all alone, all day. It's gonna take some patience, from all of us. Love is all we need, right?! If you see a smoke signal, come rescue me!

How'd you get your video to post on blogspot? I haven't been able to for months. Used to let me but now it won't. :(

I am sure will will do great but do call if you need a little assistance. I will be home but may not see the smoke signal. I know Joe has been wonderful and will be missed tomorrow though.
Love the video. But I always love seeing my precious grandchildren.
We are rooting for you over here... and praying.

When you have a free moment (ha!), you should read Prodigal God by Timothy Keller. It will elevate the big brother message and set it in concrete. Fantastic book! He also wrote another fantabulous book, Counterfeit Gods. LOVE brothers keeper shirts!

Melissa, not sure why it works for me and not you. My blog did the same thing over a year ago, it wouldn't allow me to post video's either. Now it's working again. Keep trying from time to time!

Brook, thanks for the book suggestions. Sounds like great reads. I have 5 books waiting to be read so I better get busy!!

Thanks for commenting, I'm so glad you did! Thanks for reading. And, I do NOT have it all together!! My house is a mess and I'm still in my pj's at 10:30. We are all a mess without God to help us.
I can't imagine life with teenagers, you'll have to stick around for a few more years to give me all your tips!! I'm gonna need them. :)
