4th of July-ish

Hello faithful stalkers!  I hope you all had a fantastic 4th of July.  I am so proud of our country and the freedom we have because of the sacrifices other have made.  There are so many heroic people, courageous men and women, past and present, that make me proud to be an American.
We had a really great weekend with family, food and fireworks.  This is the first year Jenna wasn't afraid of the fireworks.  She really is fearless, Bethany was hesitant to hold a sparkler but not Jenna.

Brady did fine when we watched a big community fireworks show from a distance on the 3rd, but when we were up close and way too personal with family fireworks the next night he was scared to death.  He was already tired and sleepy when we arrived and he has started to be leery of people he doesn't see on a regular basis.  He was a bit overwhelmed by all the family and really just wanted me, but was lovingly passed from one person to the next.  By the time the fireworks started he was an emotional mess, Papaw took him in and stayed inside with him.  Brady played with his watch and didn't mind the rocking chair either.

I bought a new-to-me camera on Saturday!  These pictures are a poor representation of how much better it is than my old one.  I'm still getting used to it, but love it already.  I bought it on Craigslist, which I think is the greatest place to shop. {Certainly, not the safest, but with common sense and by asking the right questions and taking my husband with me to make the transaction, it turned out well.}
So, for anyone wondering, I bought a Canon 20D, it's a needed upgrade from my Canon Rebel XT.  My sister also bought a camera though hers is brand new, a Canon 60D.  You can always see our latest photography jobs on Shining Image Photography blog.  We've been busy so don't forget to check it out!
All weekend long, Bethany wore the same outfit.  A pale blue shirt with a white skirt, with a red flower or polk-a-dotted headband.  "To be 4th of July-ish an' all.", she said.  "I don't really have much red but I put the flower with it because is needed a pinch of red!"
Brady turned 7 months old today, I really don't know where the time has gone.  It feels more like 7 weeks, and to be past that half year mark is a little sad.  He is sitting up like a champ, still no teeth!  They are playing evil tricks on us.  The intensity seems to have subsided for a few days, so I'm not complaining.
His hair is really growing in thick and I don't know how long I'll be able to put off his first haircut.  I visited my dad's mom last week and she said that he reminded her of my dad when he was a baby, the way that he is chunky.  We looked at my dad's baby picture while we were there and realized that they strongly resemble each other! I can totally see that he looks alot like Joe and Joseph, but it's cool to see my dad in him too.  He should resemble him, Brady is named after him.

Brady is always trying to get Joseph's attention.  He thinks he is hilarious, which is so cute to us.  Joseph will jump around and act crazy just to make Brady laugh.  A couple weeks ago, Joseph was hopping and flipping around the room like an animal to make Brady laugh and he hit his head on the piano bench.  He cut it open pretty badly, but was okay.
We are getting ready for a camping trip, I'm excited and hope my expectation aren't too high.  I've tried to adjust them accordingly to the fact that we have 4 small children and it'll be who knows how hot!  I'll be sure to let you know!
Bubba is crying, I need to get potatoes peeled for supper.  My parents are coming over in a bit, because our A/C is leaking water and my dad is going to diagnose the problem.  I'm sure he'll fix it too!
