Happy Spring!

Today is the first day of spring, though it feels like spring arrived a couple weeks ago.  We had a very mild winter and so far a very warm spring.  The windows are staying open, except for occasional thunderstorms, the trees are budding and blooming, the birds sing beautifully each day, all day and I am enjoying all this gorgeous weather.
As I mentioned yesterday, this weather and change in season excites me and perhaps will be the motivation I need to get things in order for Little Monkey's arrival.  There is so much to do, but after having school each day and keeping up with daily task I have a hard time finding the energy to do anything extra.  I have very little prepared but I also feel it is helping the time go by faster because it's not like I'm just sitting around, with everything ready, waiting on a baby.  I know the motivation will come and I will get this house in order, soon.  So far, all I have to show for nesting is a really large belly and a baby blanket I knitted.

I have mixed emotions about this blanket, I love how soft it feels and how the stitches look but I wouldn't use this pattern again.  Even after I blocked it, the blanket isn't perfectly square, a pet peeve of mine with baby blankets.  I enjoyed working with Lion Brand Baby's First Yarn and will definitely use it again.  Overall, I am pleased with how it turned out and that I finished it, it was a really fun project.
I do have some spring cleaning calling, now if I can just stay on task and finish it!
Happy Spring everyone!!

That bassinet looks familiar!

Melissa,
I am shopping for a used crib on craigslist and yard sales, hoping to get one soon!! I thought the bassinet might work if I don't find one before the baby comes. I'm worried the kids might pull it over the bassinet, well see! :)

You've probably already figured this out, but the legs are really wobbly on it, so I don't think I'd use it standing on it's legs. If you have a chest or trunk or something you can set it on with the legs down, that'd probably work better. We had it on the trunk at the end of our bed and used it as a changing station with Maddie. Hope you find a good reasonably priced crib!
