Little bits

I know, I can't believe it either...
Anne Charlotte is 7 months old today. What a busy life we live, these months just keep flipping past.
Isn't she a stinker?!
Some one commented on how big she is getting, but I'm glad to say I don't feel like she growing as rapidly as some of my other babies did. You know some babies just seem to grow faster and come into the world ready to hit the ground crawling and talking. Brady was that way, is that way, he just naturally has always been a big boy. He nearly skipped eating baby food and he has always been great about getting around and learning new skills. Anne is very chill, just happy to be held and eager to lay and watch. It is obvious, she loves being a baby.
We are still struggling to get full nights sleep, to establish a bedtime, to figure out why sometimes she doesn't want to nurse but it thrilled with a bottle. I left her with my mom one day last week and when asked what her schedule was I just looked at Mom speechless. We don't have a schedule, we just have routines and lots of the times those change or don't work. I explained that when she is fussy try to feed her or she might be sleepy and if all else fails hold her, you can never go wrong holding her.
Anne is a happy girl, it isn't that she isn't happy, just very dependent still. She had a late 6 month well visit the week before last, she was really 6 and half months. She weighed 15lbs 8oz and was 26 inches long, in the 50% for both height and weight.
I have to get a better picture than this one, but I had to note that Brady is obsessed with hair, he has been for months. He has always liked his own hair brushed, even as a baby. He will sit really still while we brush it, ask us to brush it and sometimes will bring us a brush and say, "Hair, mess." His new thing is he likes to sneak Bethany's Tangled doll with long hair and brush her hair. That is a big no-no and he knows that, so now he likes to brush Jenna's American Girl doll's hair, it is the funniest thing to watch him pack around the doll and brush her hair all crazy.
We so enjoyed our long weekend! Joe and I were able to spend a whole day together without the kids, it had been nearly 3 months since we had a date and it was so much fun. After 3 hours, I felt like we had been gone forever , not in a bad, I-need-to-go-back kinda way, just like in a wow-I-can't- believe-how-much-talking-and-fun-we-have-had-and-it's-only-been-three-hours! Time goes so much faster with 5 little ones around and it was shocking to realize how slowly it passed without them, it was nice.
I'm not going to lie, it was a nice break from school too. Bethany hates math and Joseph Bad Bart hates spelling so there is alot of dragging out school and complaining going on. We are working on it... and I am praying for patience.
Some one told me at church yesterday that God must have given me alot of patience to have 5 kids. I told her I'm working on it, if God's giving out extra patience no one told me about it. She also assumed I've "gotten fixed" as she put it, I told her I didn't know I was broken! :) It was all in kindness, I had no hard feelings and neither did she.
We are going to get a fresh cut tree this year, it's been 3 years since we had one and the kids are all excited about it. We have started decorating the inside a little and the outside lights are up too. I'm so looking forward to Christmas this year, I scored some great Black Friday deals online in the safety of my home. The kids shopping is all finished and now I just really need to hurry up with my knitting!
