This summer has been rich. We've had some pretty great times as a family. From visiting history museums, going out for ice cream every time someone lost a tooth, it averaged out to be about once a week, going out for donuts, seeing our first movie at a drive in, vacationing in TN and taking drives looking for land or houses, if ours should sell anytime soon.
These kids are each growing and changing. Somebody tell me how to slow down time. Sometimes is hurts for a minute and then I can't be sad, I get to watch them learn and grow. And I also grab my camera and get in their faces and follow them around so I can keep pieces of this beautiful life in pictures. What a blessing!
School starts later this week, the kids and I enjoyed a day at the pool with friends today just trying to soak up every last minute. This has been one of my favorite things about this summer, watching the kids play in the pool. I then, came home and caught up on the mini Mt. Everest of laundry, mopped the kitchen floor and cleaned out my fridge. Starting back to school is very much like nesting for a baby, prepare, prepare, prepare.
This is Joe's start to his 13th year as a teacher. Teachers need encouraged, what they sacrifice, pour of themselves into kids is amazing. They work hard, they truly care and telling them how much that means as a parent is what keeps them going year after year. I'm so proud of Joe and I know he makes a difference in kids lives on a daily basis.
